The groups for the 2026 IWBF Repechage tournaments have been confirmed, marking a key milestone on the road to Ottawa 2026 IWBF World Championships.

Following the official draw at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball in Mies, Switzerland, eight teams in both the men’s and women’s competitions have been divided into two groups of four, with the final qualification places at stake.

The men’s Repechage will take place in Suphan Buri, Thailand from 8–11 June 2026, where teams will compete for the four remaining spots at the World Championships.
Group A features Venezuela, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea and hosts Thailand, while Group B brings together Brazil, Poland, Iran and the final African qualification spot, completing a highly competitive line-up.

In the women’s competition, which will be held in Madrid, Spain over the same dates, Group A includes Colombia, Australia, Germany and the African qualification spot. Group B sees Argentina, Thailand, France and Spain drawn together, with all teams aiming to secure their place in Ottawa.

The final African qualification places in both tournaments will be determined at the upcoming IWBF Africa Championships, where the runners-up will earn the remaining berths in the Repechage.

The IWBF Repechage tournaments represent the final opportunity for teams to qualify for the World Championships, ensuring that the strongest nations from across all regions are represented on the global stage.

With the groups now confirmed, attention turns to June, where the final qualification battles will unfold and the road to Ottawa 2026 reaches its decisive stage.
