The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) and Commonwealth Sport is pleased to announce the Zonal Qualifier events for 3x3 wheelchair basketball ahead of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Each IWBF Zone will host its own qualifier, with direct qualification slots available (men’s and women’s) for the highest ranked eligible Commonwealth Games Association (CGA) in that zone.
These events will determine the countries that will join the competition field at Glasgow 2026, as the sport returns to the Commonwealth Games programme following its debut in Birmingham 2022.
Zonal Qualifier Schedule
Asia Oceania Qualifier*
- 1–3 November 2025, Bangkok, Thailand
- One (1) slot per gender for the highest ranked CGA from Asia, and one (1) slot per gender for the highest ranked CGA from Oceania.
*Held in conjunction with the 2025 IWBF Asia Oceania Championships.
Africa Qualifier
- 3–7 December 2025, Kigali, Rwanda
- One (1) slot per gender
Americas Qualifier
- 28–29 March 2026, Toronto, Canada
- One (1) slot per gender
Europe Qualifier
- 2–5 April 2026, Nottingham, England
- One (1) slot per gender
There will be eight teams per gender competing at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, and the full qualification process is available on the event page.
