The first two games of day five saw top of the table play bottom of the table in the pools, as Germany took on Argentina and USA played Algeria.

A similar mismatch in strength between the two teams on both courts allowed both Germany and USA to finish their preliminary round with wins and top the group standings.

In Pool A, German coach Holger Glinicki rotated his team from the previous game against Canada, enabling his squad to build invaluable court time as the knock out stages approached. Against Argentina, another fantastic four quarters by the German side saw the team build their momentum through to a 59-20 win.

Meanwhile, in Pool B, the USA also sent a strong message to the field with a 65-15 win against Algeria; Stephanie Wheelers’ team once again looking strong at both end of the court.

USA's Megan Blunk said, "It was fun and nice to get out there and play with my team. This has been all very exciting around here. It is big and fun to play in front of so many people. There is always a great environment to be in.”
