IWBF are aware that four members of the Iranian delegation due to compete at the IWBF World Championships, starting 9 September, including the head coach and assistant coach, are still awaiting decisions on their visa applications. All players and four other members of staff have received their visas.

IWBF and the Local Organising Committee have been working closely with the Iranian Federation and have provided all possible support regarding the outstanding applications, including constant exchange with the relevant Canadian authorities. IWBF has no direct involvement in the visa process as the decision remains the sole responsibility of the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the responsible Canadian authority, who is following due process and its established procedures on their end.

With four visa decisions still pending, the Iranian Federation is currently considering its position regarding participation in the World Championships. As no final decision has been made, IWBF is unable to comment further at this stage and will provide an update as soon as confirmed information becomes available.
