The bronze medal game in the women’s wheelchair basketball competition at the Indonesia 2018 Asian Para Games went down to just a one-point difference between Thailand and Iran.
Iran looked to take control of the game in the third quarter pushing out to a seven-point lead, however, foul trouble saw them lose two of their starting five for the last 10 minutes as Thailand took the initiative to come back and go in front. The lead exchanged hands in the final minutes and Iran had the chance to win the game from the free-throw line but couldn’t convert and Thailand took the victory, 41-40, and the bronze medal.

Afghanistan and Cambodia met in the 5th/6th play-off, with both teams having progressed considerably following their debut at an international tournament last year. Afghanistan came out the stronger of the two teams and held a 17-4 advantage after the first quarter. Despite the next three quarters being more even, it was a lead which proved too much for Cambodia to overturn, as Afghanistan won the game 54-36.
