The first of the three quarter finals saw Mexico faced Honduras. It was clear early on that Mexico were going to be too strong for Honduras, as they pushed ahead in the first quarter, 18 - 4 followed by 22 – 12 in the second quarter, meaning they were very much in control at the end of the first half 40 – 16.

The second half was much of the same and Mexico’s Edgar Perdomo added to the lead draining four three pointers in the third quarter. The Mexico fourth quarter saw Mexico outscore Honduras 22 – 4. And secure a big win 84 – 24 advancing them to Saturday’s semi-final.

Top scorers for Mexico were Fernando Galvan and Ezequiel Jaime with 18 points each. For Honduras Jorge Rivera and Kevin Gonzales with 6 points each.

Second game of the day saw Nicaragua lead from start to finish. Led by a 19 point game from Carlos Algeria and an 18 point game by Nelson Ramirez, Nicaragua secured the next semi-final spot with a win 77 – 38. Top scorers for Guatemala were Juan Buch with 13 points and Hugo Andrino with 9 points.

The last quarter final saw El Salvador play against Costa Rica. In a game reminiscent of the first game of the day (game 10), both teams played pretty equally in the first half. With just over four minutes of the second quarter El Salvador were up by 10 points but Costa Rica pulled it back to within 5 points of El Salvador to make it a five point game going into the final half.

However again both teams struggled to convert in the third quarter and there were a series of turn overs by both teams before El Salvador finally netted the first basket of the quarter, as well as drawing the foul on the shot to finish the three point play, and score the only three points in the quarter. In the fourth quarter Costa Rica continued to go through a scoring drought, and with five minutes 28 seconds remaining on the clock they took their biggest lead 36 – 24. When Costa Rica eventually managed to score it was all over and El Salvador moved on to the semi-finals with a 45 – 28 win .

Top scorer for El Salvador was Henry Ganuza with 23 points and Costa Rica’s Petter Rojashad led with 12 points.
