Over the past few weeks, a number of referee clinics have been held around the world with a number of new officials having been awarded their International or Zonal Referee Licences.

The Asia-Oceania Zone held a clinic as part of the Fazza Cup, in Dubai. Whilst this was not a formal refresher nor examination clinic, it did allow officials present to improve their knowledge of officiating within IWBF. As part of this clinic, two officials from Saudi Arabia, Bander Aloteibi and Abdullah Almahdi were recognised as National Officials.

In the Americas Zone, as part of the Andina Cup held in Chile early in May, Enzo Fernandez from Chile, qualified as a new Zone Referee.

The Africa Zone played host to a six nation tournament in Agadir, Morocco. From this event we saw one official qualify as a new International Referee, Natascha Onono from South Africa and two officials from Morocco, Faical Saoud and Youssef Zaga, achieve their Zone Referee Accreditation.

Erik Etzelmullerrom Germany is Europe’s latest International Official, having passed his examination in March together with Arne Engelen (Belgium) who qualified as a Zone Referee. At the recent European B Championships held in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Veronica Restuccia (Italy) passed her examination and qualified as a Zone Referee.

Congratulations to these officials and we look forward to their ongoing work as part of the IWBF family of technical officials.
