Japan men withdraw from the 2022 IWBF Asia Oceania Championships

The Japanese men’s team have regrettably withdrawn from the 2022 IWBF Asia Oceania Championships due to several COVID-19 positive tests within the squad.

Japan will forfeit the rest of their games and according to the official wheelchair basketball rules, if in a tournament the team forfeits for the second time, the team shall be disqualified from the tournament and the results of all games played by this team shall be nullified

IWBF Asia Oceania wishes all the Japanese staff and players affected a speedy recovery. IWBF Asia Oceania will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation at the Championships closely.
