The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) is proud to continue its valued partnership with Tissot through 2026, as the Road to Ottawa intensifies ahead of the 2026 IWBF World Championships taking place in Canada this September.

As Official Timekeeper of IWBF competitions and Presenting Partner of the Tissot Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award, Tissot has already played a visible role throughout the qualification pathway to Ottawa 2026, supporting key IWBF events across the globe, including the Zonal Championships in Americas, Asia Oceania, and Europe.

The partnership will continue through the upcoming 2026 Men’s and Women’s Repechage Tournaments in Spain and Thailand this June, before culminating at the 2026 IWBF World Championships in Ottawa, Canada, in September 2026.

Throughout the Road to Ottawa campaign, the Tissot MVP Award has recognised outstanding individual performances across IWBF Zonal Competitions, as well as at the 2025 IWBF U23 World Championships, recognising the players who continue to elevate wheelchair basketball on the international stage.

Ulf Mehrens, President of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation, said:

“We are incredibly pleased to continue our partnership with Tissot as we build towards Ottawa 2026. Their support helps us celebrate the performances of our players and raise the bar for our events globally. The Tissot MVP Award has become an important part of recognising excellence across our competitions, and we are grateful for their continued commitment to wheelchair basketball.”

Since the partnership began in 2022, Tissot has brought its timekeeping precision and global sporting credibility to the wheelchair basketball stage.

Sylvain Dolla, CEO of Tissot, said:

“This partnership reflects the strength and unity of the basketball community worldwide. As a Global Partner of FIBA and Official Timekeeper of the NBA and WNBA, Tissot is proud to continue supporting IWBF and contributing to the visibility and growth of para sport. Our commitment goes beyond timekeeping – it is about honoring the resilience, skill, and dedication of the athletes, and celebrating the passion that drives every level of the game.”
"This renewal continues to strengthen the connections inside the broader FIBA Family, whereby wheelchair basketball under IWBF's leadership has developed into an extremely popular paralympic discipline," said FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis. "As one of FIBA's Global Partners, Tissot's continued engagement with wheelchair basketball highlights its increasing recognition on the world stage."

With the final qualification events for 2026 IWBF World Championships now approaching, the continued partnership between IWBF and Tissot will help showcase some of the world’s best wheelchair basketball players as they compete on the Road to Ottawa and ultimately on the world stage in Canada this September.
