The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) and RGK Wheelchairs have renewed their partnership through 2030, extending acollaboration that provides specialist wheelchair support for players at IWBF events and helps promote wheelchair basketball worldwide.
The partnership began at the 2023 IWBF Women’s U25 World Championship. Since then, RGK’s technicians have supported players at international tournaments with wheelchair servicing and repairs, helping them address equipment issues during competition. The renewed agreement will continue that support at IWBF World events over the coming years.
RGK’s repair station at the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair BasketballWorld Championships in Ottawa was a recent example of the partnership inaction. With athletes competing across a demanding tournament schedule, accessto specialist equipment support on site was an important part of the servicesavailable to teams.
IWBF Secretary General Gabriel Zangenfeind said:
“A player needs to be able to trust their wheelchair every time they take the court. RGK’s expertise and presence at our events provide valuable support to athletes and teams, particularly when an equipment issue arises during a tournament. We are delighted to renew this partnership through 2030 and to continue working together to improve the experience we offer players at IWBF competitions.”

RGK Wheelchairs specialises in made-to-measure sports and everyday wheelchairs. Its longstanding connection with wheelchair basketball gives the company an understanding of the equipment demands players face at the highest level of the sport.
RGK Wheelchairs Commercial Lead Mike Prosser said:
“We are incredibly proud to renew our partnership with IWBF through to 2030. Supporting wheelchair basketball at an international level is something that means a great deal to everyone at RGK, and our presence at events allows us to provide practical support to athletes when they need it most. Our relationship with the sport has developed over many years, and we are excited to continue working alongside IWBF, supporting players and helping to promote the incredible athletes and stories within wheelchair basketball around the world.”

Beyond its work at events, the partnership will see IWBF and RGK continue to promote wheelchair basketball and share the stories of the players who compete in it. Both organisations are committed to building on the relationship developed since 2023, with practical support for players remaining at its centre.
The renewal through 2030 gives IWBF and RGK a foundation toplan together for future events and continue improving the support available to athletes on the world stage.
