Iran and Japan secured the first men’s semi-final places at the Indonesia 2018 Asian Para Games.

Iran finished their pool stage games with an 87-30 win over Iraq ensuring them top spot in pool B and a semi-final place.

Thailand kept their hopes of making the semi-finals alive with a 62-10 win over hosts Indonesia. They will now face China in the final game of the pool stages with the winner going through to the final four.

In pool A, Saudi Arabia picked up their first win of the tournament beating Malaysia, 60-49.

The last men’s game of the day was definitely the most exciting game of the competition so far as Japan came back from a 19-point deficit to defeat South Korea, 81-67, and secure a spot in the semi-finals.

There were no upsets in the women’s competition as tournament favourites China and Japan both progressed through to the final with commanding wins in their semi-finals against Thailand and Iran, respectively.
