On Day 2 of the IWBF Americas U23 Qualifying Tournament the competition was USA against Chile and Argentina up against Brazil.

In the first game – as expected – USA were much too strong for the young team from Chile outscoring them 50 – 7 in the first half. USA rotated their bench in the second half allowing Chile to get into their game a little, however the USA's strength in depth ensured a victory of, 96 to 31.

Top scorers for USA were Kyle Gribble with 23 points and Brenton Regier with 14 points whilst Jonathan Moreira made 19 points for Chile.

In the second game of the day Brazil came out strong looking to bounce back from their 38 -64 loss to USA, on the previous day. They dominated Argentina in the first half with quarter scores of 23 – 4 and 18 – 7 to go into half-time with a 30 points lead, 41 – 11. However hosts Argentina regrouped in the second half and held Brazil to keep it all square, 19 points a piece, Argentina won the final quarter by a score of 12 – 6. However their rallying was a little too late and Brazil held on to secure their first win 60 - 29.

Top scorers for Brazil were Francisco e Souza with 27 points and Anderson da Silva with 10 points. Leading the scoring for Argentina was Augusto Bianchi with 10 points.

On Day 3 Brazil will be playing Chile whilst Argentina are looking to cause an upset against the pre-tournament favorite USA.
