Great Britain claimed the bronze medal at the Ottawa 2026 IWBF Men’s World Championship after defeating Germany 67–56 on Saturday, 19 September, at TD Place.
The British team took control of the game from the opening period and maintained their advantage to finish the tournament with a victory.
The result helped Great Britain bounce back from the disappointment of their semi-final defeat to Italy and secured the team a third consecutive World Championship medal, following gold in 2018 and silver in 2022.
Great Britain captain Gregg Warburton led the victory with 20 points and seven assists. Nico Dreimüller was Germany’s leading scorer with 24 points as his team completed the tournament in fourth place.
“I am happy that we could come away today, finish with a win and take something home,” said Warburton.
“It is tough when you come with one goal in mind, but we knew today was about the family and friends who have supported us from back home, the association, UK Sport and the staff, who gave up their whole summer to chase one goal.”
Great Britain leave Ottawa with another place on the World Championship podium, while Germany finish fourth following an impressive campaign.
