Great Britain bounced back to secure the bronze medal at the 2025 IWBF U23 Men’s Wheelchair Basketball World Championship, edging out Australia 67–60 in a thrilling showdown for third place.
After a disappointing semi-final loss, the European champions showed resilience and depth. Despite struggling to find their offensive rhythm early on, GB’s second unit stepped up when it mattered most — shifting the momentum and putting the team firmly back in control.
Australia kept the game close throughout, with Jaylen Brown putting in a stellar performance. The Aussie star posted a huge double-double of 25 points and 18 rebounds, doing everything he could to keep the Spinners in contention.
But Oscar Knight proved to be the difference-maker for Great Britain. With 26 points and 9 rebounds, he led the charge as GB held off a late push from Australia to finish their campaign on a high.
A gutsy performance and a strong response — Great Britain head home with bronze around their necks and heads held high.
