The IWBF Asia Oceania Zone (IWBF AOZ) has confirmed the participating nations and released the official game schedule for the 2025 IWBF Asia Oceania Championships, which will take place from 7–15 November 2025 at the Centara Life Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre, Chaeng Watthana in Bangkok, Thailand.
Bringing together the top men’s and women’s teams from across the region, the Championships will serve as a qualifier for both the Ottawa 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships and the 2026 Asian Para Games.

Teams Set for Bangkok
The 2025 edition will feature a strong field of 15 men’s teams and 9 women’s teams, reflecting the continued growth and depth of wheelchair basketball across Asia and Oceania.
Men’s Competition
Division A: Australia, China, Iran, Japan, Korea, Thailand
Division B: Afghanistan, Chinese Taipei, India, Iraq, Kuwait, New Zealand, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates
Women’s Competition
Division A: Australia, China, Japan
Division B: Cambodia, India, Iran, Laos, Philippines, Thailand
Each division will play a round-robin format to determine standings before progressing to the knockout stages and Finals Day on Saturday, 15 November, when both the men’s and women’s champions will be crowned.

Championship Schedule
The competition tips off on Friday, 7 November, with the opening Men’s Division 2 games as Afghanistan face United Arab Emirates and Philippines take on Saudi Arabia.
The group phase will run until Wednesday, 12 November, followed by the Men’s Quarter-Finals on 13 November, Semi-Finals on 14 November, and the highly anticipated Finals Day on Saturday, 15 November, featuring both the Men’s and Women’s Gold Medal Games.
All matches will be played on two courts inside the Centara Life Government Complex, with teams, officials, and staff all accommodated within the same venue for a seamless tournament experience.

Qualification Pathway
The Championships will determine the region’s qualification places for upcoming international competitions:
- The top two men’s and women’s teams will qualify directly for the Ottawa 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships.
- The third and fourth-placed teams will advance to the 2026 Repechage Tournaments, providing a second chance to qualify.
- The event will also serve as a qualifying pathway for the 2026 Asian Para Games.
