The formal draw for the U23 World Championships is set to take place on Saturday 25th February 2017 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Maureen Orchard, Secretary General of the IWBF, will oversee the draw scheduled to take place at Wheelchair Basketball Canada’s National Office at 10 a.m. (ET). The draw will be broadcast live through the Wheelchair Basketball Canada Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/wheelchairbasketball.
The formal draw will determine the competition groups for the 12 countries competing at the event which is to take place at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada between from June 8-16, 2017.
The event celebrates the ongoing growth of the game while promoting inclusivity and accessibility, and will forge a legacy for the wheelchair basketball community in Canada and around the world. The 2017 U23WWBC also marks the 20-year anniversary since Canada hosted the inaugural world championship for junior men in 1997 in Toronto.
