In the first game of day three, Mexico proved too strong for El Salvador as they dominated the first half to end it 29 – 12 up. They continued to control the game in the third and fourth quarter winning both by 22 – 11 and 15 – 7, giving Mexico a confident 66 – 30 victory against El Salvador. The win puts Mexico into first place in the group going 2-0, Nicaragua finish second (one win and one loss) whilst El Salvador finishes third with 2 losses.

Top scorer for Mexico was Edgar Perdomo 15 points, Efrain Martinez and Ezequiel Jaime with 12 points a piece. El Salvadors' top scorer was Henry Ganuza with 15 points

Mexico will play Honduras in the first quarter-final on Friday.

In Game 8 of the tournament Puerto Rico remained unbeaten proving just too much for Honduras. storming to a 91 – 23 win. Puerto Rico's Hector Maldonando led the scoring with 21 points whilst Joshua Rogriguez added 18 points. Jorge Rivera was again Honduras' top scorer with 10 points.

Puerto Rico now get a day off while they wait for the winners of the quarter-finals to be confirmed.

Hosts Costa Rica were next up in Game 9 against Guatemala. The game started out fairly evenly as Costa Rica led by just 5 points, 23 – 18, at the end of the half. Both teams struggled to score in the third period with the first basket coming with just over one minute left of the quarter. Guatemala's Edwin Tenas and Costa Rica's Kenneth Gonzales making the only scores of the quarter.

In the fourth quarter Costa Rica found their range and showed everyone that they could score hitting 26 points and outscoring Guatemala's 8. Final score Costa Rica 54 – Guatemala 29.

Top scorer for Costa Rica - Kenneth Gonzales 29 points and for Guatemala - Jose Ramirez 13 points.

In the quarter finals' Mexico will play Honduras at 15:00, followed by Nicaragua vs Guatemala at 17:00 and to finish the day Costa Rica will face El Salvador at 19:00.
