Cambodia women will introduce one player to the team that played at the 2018 Asia Para Games for their 2019 Asia Oceania Championship campaign.
Da Soem will make her international major debut at the Championship, as the only addition to their team roster.
Cambodia’s Player Coach Sinet An, said:
“I did a final selection to select those that will join the team by having our team players play against each other and I am satisfied with the final team. We have been training hard, with enough equipment and the team are ready the Championships.”
Cambodia will be looking to build on the foundations they built at the Central & East Asia Qualifying Tournament for Asian Para Games, where they ground out wins against Laos and India. An added:
“Our goal is to win and we want our next game after the Championship to be in Japan. We hope we will get good knowledge and experience from other countries.”
Cambodia’s Chanthy Ho, who is an influential player for the team, said:
“I have been playing wheelchair basketball for 7 years. I like the competitiveness and having fun and I am so happy that the coach has selected me. We have been training hard and I am ready for the Championships. I can't wait to compete in the Championships.”
Cambodia women’s team will have to finish top in Division 2, above Thailand, India, Iran, and Afghanistan, to play in the semi-final line-ups alongside the three teams from Division 1 for a chance to grab one of the two qualifying spots for Tokyo 2020.
