Calls for bids to host 2026 World Championships

The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation are inviting National Organisations of Wheelchair Basketball (NOWB’s) to submit bids to host the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships for Men and Women.

IWBF member organisations are invited to submit an expression of interest to host the World Championships and the bids can be for the event as a men only, women only or combined for both men and women.

The World Championships is the biggest and most prestigious competition in wheelchair basketball, aside from the Paralympic Games, and offers the opportunity to cities and countries to showcase the premier Paralympic Sport at its most elite level. It can also be a used as a tool to make positive changes drawing a focus on areas such as social inclusion and community engagement.
