A fantastically run 9th Fazza International Wheelchair Basketball Championships came to a conclusion yesterday (Thursday 18th May).

Great Britain’s U23 team took the title just edging out Thailand in a thrilling match, 50 - 48. In the bronze medal game Japan held off hosts UAE to secure third place, 58 - 42.

The seven-team competition was organised and supervised by the Dubai Club for People of Determination with the support of their strategic partners Dubai Sports Council, IWBF (International Wheelchair Basketball Federation), the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare (GAYSW) and the UAE Paralympic Committee.

Alongside hosts UAE, the participating countries were South Africa U23’s, Japan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Great Britain U23’s.
