IWBF Europe have announced the postponement of the 2020 Men’s European Championship Division B, which was due to be held in Athens, Greece from 15-23 November 2020.
The IWBF Europe Executive Council met online on the 15th and 16th October to discuss the possible arrangement of the 2020 Men’s European Championship Division B. Over the past weeks IWBF Europe Secretary General, Petr Tuček, has worked closely with the Local Organising Committee to identify what safe measures could be applied at the event.
However, with continuing uncertainty about the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Executive Council made the very difficult decision that it would not be appropriate to continue with the plans for November and to postpone the championship until the situation with the coronavirus is more controlled.
IWBF Europe have made this decision with a focus on protecting the health of players and international technical officials (ITOs) in unprecedented times.
IWBF Europe will communicate the new dates and arrangements for the championship once decided.
