The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) is pleased to support the inclusion of 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball at the 2026 World Abilitysport Youth Games, taking place in Mersin, Türkiye, from 15–22 June 2026.
As part of the official sport programme, the Games will feature an IWBF-endorsed U23 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball competition, providing a valuable international opportunity for young athletes to compete in this fast-growing format of the game.
The 3x3 wheelchair basketball competition will bring together emerging talent from across IWBF Zones, offering athletes the chance to gain international experience in a structured, multi-sport environment.
The event in Mersin represents an important opportunity to further integrate 3x3 into the international competition pathway, particularly for younger athletes.
The competition will take place at a purpose-built outdoor venue overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, providing a unique setting as part of the wider Youth Games programme.
