The best of European wheelchair basketball will descend on Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina for the 2025 IWBF European Championship Division A, where the top men’s and women’s teams will battle for continental honours and a place on the global stage.

Competition Overview

A total of 12 men’s teams and 5 women’s teams will compete in this elite championship, showcasing the highest level of competition in the Europe Zone.

  • 15 October: Semi-Finals
  • 16 October: Placing Games
  • 17 October: Bronze and Gold Medal Games, followed by the Medal Ceremony

This championship will serve as a key qualifier for the 2026 IWBF World Championships in Ottawa, Canada:

Men’s Division:

  • Top five (5) teams qualify directly to Ottawa 2026
  • Next two (2) teams advance to the 2026 Repechage Tournament

Women’s Division:

  • Top two (2) teams qualify directly to Ottawa 2026
  • Next two (2) teams advance to the 2026 Repechage Tournament
