IWBF Doping Campaign

 

IWBF has been actively engaged in supporting the creation of a doping free environment within the wheelchair basketball sporting community.  We are committed to supporting the IPC movement, who, in conjunction with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)) http://www.wada-ama.org/, is committed working towards the creation of a doping free sporting environment.

Key responsibilities of the IWBF and the IWBF Zones in doping matters

IWBF WORLD is responsible for the following areas:

  • Organization of doping tests for its competitions
  • Whereabouts information for its competitions that are part of the IWBF RTPs
  • Production and distribution of anti-doping material for doping controls and educational programmes
  • Results management in case of adverse analytical findings
  • Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs)

 The IWBF Zones are  responsible for the following areas:

  • Organization of doping tests for their competitions
  • Whereabouts information for their competitions that are part of the IWBF RTPs
  • Distribution of anti-doping material for doping controls and educational programme

Our members deal with NADO National Anti-Doping Org to access TUE’s for their athletes

 

Registered Testing Pool (RTP)

According to the WADA provisions, the term "Registered Testing Pool (RTP)" is defined as follows: "The pool of top level athletes established separately by each International Federation (and NADO) who are subject to both in-competition and out-of-competition testing (…). Each IF (and NADO) shall publish a list which identifies those Athletes included in its RTP either by name or by clearly defined specific criteria."

 

IWBF will shortly establish a RTP.
