IWBF Paralympic Blogging

The IWBF is now actively recruiting bloggers for 2012.

We would like to identify a blogger from every team headed to the paralympics and more! We have found our first bloggers and now we need your help finding more!

2012 is a great year to be involved in wheelchair basketball. There is an excitement you can feel whenever you attend games, training, events or talk about wheelchair basketball. During this year we have an opportunity to help everyone learn more about our sport, our athletes, coaches, officials, teams, volunteers, organizations and anyone affiliated with the IWBF and wheelchair basketball.
But we need your help to do this!

We need you to help us find bloggers; find people or teams to blog on our blog site and/or find and tell us about other wheelchair blogs.

We need your HELP to spread the word about our blogs; list our blog on your website, add it to your email signature or newsletters; tell your community not once but frequently

One of our fabulous bloggers Mareike Adermann, US collegiate wheelchair basketball champion, Germany national team player, and paralympic athlete has just contributed a fascinating and insightful blog called "Daily Issues of a Paraylmpic Athlete - Setting Priorities- International Competition and Life"

We recently found UK wheelchair basketbal player Sara Grady chronicling her experiences in her own blog "My Journey to London 2012"

We are looking for individuals and team bloggers including; Athletes, Coaches, Team Staff, Officials, Teams and Volunteers and Staff from our community of wheelchair basketball enthusiasts.

No experience required to blog for the IWBF and we will provide you with guidelines and assistance creating and posting your blogs. You do not even need to be headed to London. Sometimes the story of hope or disappointment, longing and planning for the next chance can be just as compelling as the story of anticipation.

Your blogs can focus on your personal experiences, feelings, successes and failures; your blogs can provide us with insights into your approach to your role as an athlete, coach, trainer, official, staff member and more; your blogs can provide others with tips and techniques to they can improve their own 'game'; your blogs can help build our community and create a public history of this exciting year.

Our bloggers also would love to hear your feedback and comments. Our bloggers take time from their hectic days to share their experiences with you and the public. They do this not for themselves but to provide a rich texture to the story of wheelchair basketball.

Wheelchair basketball is our game, but this year we have the opportunity to showcase it on a world stage. Help make our story real and memorable by sharing your story.

Contact the IWBF if you are interested in blogging or if you know a blogger.  You can email our President Maureen Orchard at @ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
