    IWBF Americas ITO’s get ready to arrive

    On the eve of the opening of the village in Guadalajara IWBF Americas Technical Officials are also getting ready to leave for the Parapan American Games, the final qualifying tournament for the London 2012 paralympics with 4 spots up for grabs for the women and 3 spots for the men.

  • Thank you Guangzhou

    The 1st Asian Para Games came to an end with Japan winning both the men's and women's Gold medal in wheelchair basketball. The tournament was a great success with many nations returning after a lengthy absence from international competition thus ensuring a great future for wheelchair basketball in Asia. The teams varied widely in wheelchair basketball skills but the determination and desire to compete was the same for everyone.

  • Women’s U25 World Championships

    The inaugural Women’s Under 25 World Wheelchair Basketball Championships will take place at Brock University situated in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, July 15 – 23, 2011. Maureen Orchard, President of IWBF, recently visited Brock to meet with the local organizing committee and officials from Wheelchair Basketball Canada who are the official host of the championship.

  • Asian Para Games Results

    From the Asian Para Games in Guangzhou, China where on the men's side China, Japan, Korea and Chinese Tapei have just made it through to the semi-finals. China finished top in Group A will play Chinese Tapei in one semi-final and Korea who finished first in Group B will play Japan.
